The lack of transportation for many people with disabilities in Maryland and across the country continues to be one of the biggest barriers to independence. Please share any information about reliable and accessible transportation and join in the effort to improve access to and utilization of effective transportation. The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council is sponsoring several current projects on this topic. They include:

Expanding the Availability and Accessibility of Public Transportation for People with Disabilities
Shore Transit - Proposes to increase the amount of rural transportation available to residents of Wicomico County.

Transportation Action Project
Independence Now, who will develop and distribute a Transportation Resource Guide for Montgomery County, is implementing this project.
