Maryland Paratransit Services
Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, Baltimore City
MTA's Paratransit Service is provided by the MTA's Mobility Department and Yellow Van Service, Inc. (Yellow). Yellow is a private company that operates under a contractual agreement with MTA. MTA's Paratransit program. Paratransit is a specialized, curb-to-curb service for people with disabilities who are not able to ride fixed-route public transportation, including lift-equipped buses. It is also available for people with disabilities who cannot get to boarding/alighting locations.Rate for one way is $1.55. The Paratransit service area consists of any Baltimore City, Baltimore County or Anne Arundel County location, within three-quarters (3/4) of a mile of any MTA fixed-route service. Calvert County
Calvert County Government Transportation Services Calvert County, through the Transportation Division of the Department of Public Safety, serves the transportation needs of the general public as well as the elderly and persons with disabilities. The county provides a deviated fixed route system Monday through Saturday to link residents with major shopping, medical, and employment, as well as with public services available in Prince Frederick. Calvert County operates five deviated fixed routes that run from Prince Frederick to Solomons; Prince Frederick to North Beach and Chesapeake Beach; Prince Frederick to St. Leonard, Broomes Island and Adelina; Prince Frederick Shuttle Service and the Lusby, Solomons, Chesapeake Ranch Estate Shuttle Service. There are three demand-response routes that operate Monday through Friday within the county, one between Prince Frederick and destinations to the north, one between Prince Frederick and destinations to the south and the third is within the North Beach, Chesapeake Beach area.

To be eligible, you must present a valid MTA photo ID, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) photo ID or a Medicare card upon boarding MTA services. The one-way reduced fares are $1.95 for zone 2, and $2.45 for zone 3. HATS - Howard Area Transit Service is a general public transportation service owned and sponsored by Howard County, Maryland. The buses run between Columbia Shopping Mall, Hickory Ridge Village Center, Howard County Hospital, and Howard Community College. Reduced Fare (senior/disabled) Peak Hour $0.75, Reduced Fares for Seniors and persons with disabilities are -: Peak, $0.75 and Off Peak (9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.), $0.50. Montgomery County
Montgomery County's Transit System consists of RIDE ON, Metrobus, and Metrorail, carrying more than 1.5 million seniors and passengers with disabilities annually. Other special programs include Paratransit (MetroAccess) and Call 'N' Ride. Special identification cards for persons with disabilities are issued by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). To apply for this card, call WMATA at (202) 962-1245. This card is accepted on all RIDE ON buses.
Call 'n Ride This Montgomery County program provides subsidized taxi trips for low-income persons with disabilities and seniors. To be eligible for the Call 'N' Ride Program, you must be at least 70 years of age. If you are less than 70 years of age, you must show proof of disability. Clients are provided a $50 monthly coupon book (each coupon in the book is valued at $1) at discounts according to income. You may use the coupons on taxicabs from companies under contract with the County. Coupons may be used to pay for the full cost of the fare or may be combined with cash to pay for your trip. Accessible Ride On service allows passengers who cannot use a conventional RIDE ON bus the ability to take public transit to go to work and travel around the County like other transit patrons. Accessible RIDE ON may be used by patrons who use a wheelchair, walker, or who otherwise need the assistance of a lift to board a RIDE ON bus. The County plans to acquire 15-20 lift equipped buses annually until the entire fleet is accessible. Until the entire fleet is accessible, it is necessary to prearrange accessible trips by calling the Montgomery County Transit Information Center at (240) 777-5870 or TDD (240) 777-5869. All trips must be arranged by 3:00 PM on the weekday before your trip. All RIDE ON's routes operating on Saturday or Sunday schedules have accessible service. If you're riding RIDE ON Saturday or Sunday, or on the holidays of which RIDE ON is operating a Saturday or Sunday schedule, you do not have to call in advance. The Reduced Fare is now $0.50 at all times with the Metro Senior ID Card. Complimenting the transit system in Montgomery County, MetroAccess provides curb-to-curb service for disabled persons who are unable to use the regular transit systems and have been certified eligible to use paratransit service. Montgomery County has fully implemented MetroAccess with service hours mirroring those of the transit system, 5:30 a.m. - 12 midnight, 7 days a week. TheBus, a Prince Georges County bus service meeting your local transportation needs. Call-A-Bus is a demand response curb-to-curb service. Service is available to all residents of Prince George's County who are not served by or cannot use existing bus or rail services.
General Purpose Transportation Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance by calling (301) 499-8603 between 7:30 am to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding major holidays). Hours of operations are 8:30 am to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. Same day requests are accepted but are subject to availability of resources. When reserving a trip, please be sure to indicate if you will need special assistance, such as a wheelchair lift or escort. After your trip is scheduled, you will be required to call back the day before your trip to confirm your reservation, otherwise, your reservation may be cancelled. Please be ready for pick-up 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time and be waiting at a location where you are visible to the driver. Due to traffic congestion, please wait 15 minutes before calling to verify if your trip is late. Fares are based on one-way trips and are payable upon boarding. Escorts ride free.
